Tena Moore is a Squarespace Expert and Digital Marketing Coach at Mountain BizWorks , a 501-C3 that helps local small businesses start, create & stimulate growth in Asheville, NC. She’s been with them since May 2021.
Mountain BizWorks provides business loans and coaching to emerging and established small businesses in Western North Carolina. They have a particular focus on working with businesses unable to access financing from banks and other traditional sources, as well as low-income, minority, women, immigrant entrepreneurs, and businesses that operate within the local food system.
My Career Path
Hi, I'm Tena Moore, a web designer with a long career and unique blend of tech-savvy skills in both digital marketing and design. I have over two decades of working with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their work in the world.
I began my career in the late 90s as a writer for the web.
In 2001, I took my first online marketing position in Marin, CA, and worked with a roster of big-name clients: Microsoft, Fox, Miramax, Handspring, Full Sail Academy, and more.
Not long after, I began venturing out on my own, helping small businesses in the city of San Francisco with their online marketing efforts.
In those days, it was MySpace and Tribe.net, along with Usenet forums. In 2007 - Facebook happened! Everything changed.
I was already doing online marketing, so this was a game-changer for me, and set me off on a two-decade career in digital marketing. I owned a social media agency, Social Bloom, for five years until selling the name to a Los Angeles-based company in 2018.
In 2020, I decided that I wanted to make a change. I think a lot of people found new interests and callings during this time. You might be one of them.
The natural progression for me was Squarespace Web Design.
My website had been on Squarespace since 2012, and social media alone wasn’t enough to bring in the results I wanted to see for my clients. Social media should be a place that DIRECTS people to your website so that you can get their email and start a relationship with them.
Your social media efforts don’t work if your website isn’t optimized for leads and sales.
I don’t just create pretty websites - I create websites that are rich in marketing techniques and messaging that speak to your unique audience.

Teddy has been Tena’s digital sidekick since 2012. Tiny girl joined him in 2024.
Of course, they rescued her. 💕
TEDDY
On Teddy’s paperwork, it says he’s a mini-poodle mix - but we don’t know what he’s mixed with, because he has a mysterious past. We like to say he’s part mini-poodle, and part Teddy Bear! 🧸
Teddy is 13 years old (going to be 14 in 2024 and still as spunky as ever!), 18 lbs., and his favorite things are napping, chasing balls in the park, and being rambunctious and full of personality. Look at that smile!
TINY
Tiny is a Jack Russell terrier and mini-poodle, so a Jackapoo. She’s still learning about toys and balls, but we hope to have her playing soon. She joined us on January 21st, 2024. This year!
Tiny is 4 years old, 13 lbs.and she is the sweetest snuggler! She is all eyes! While she’s still getting used to her new home, she brings lots of sweetness and joy! And … a lot of puppies!
Neither I nor the vet knew she was pregnant (until a couple of days before) she gave birth on Feb. 16th, 2024, to 4 beautiful girls - MooMoo, Princess Rambo, Queen Beatrice, and Honey!
The puppies spent their first 8-weeks with us, and now they are all in new, loving homes.
